Flashback Friday
With Halloween around the corner, we were hoping to post an old All Hallows' Eve picture or two. Unfortunately, we don't have any! Instead, what we have is something that few of you have seen--something still pretty scary--Bo (and Mark) Buchanan with long hair! ;-)

Purdue University Update
This week, we're still working away on our artwork project for Purdue University's new Mackey Arena. In addition to the pieces of art for outside the arena, bo-mar is also manufacturing a giant "P" which will be displayed inside Mackey Arena! The "Fast P" is 2 feet wide, over 14 feet across, and nearly 8 feet tall! Delivery is set for tomorrow (Friday, October 28th). We'll be sure to upload pictures of the finished products when they're all set up in West Lafayette.

Flashback Friday--"Now & Then"
By the year 2000, bo-mar was outgrowing its 18,000 square foot rental space on Franklin Road. Luckily, owners Bo and Mark found a building for sale in an industrial area of Beech Grove, Indiana. In December 2000, bo-mar moved from its small unit space on Franklin Road to a much larger stand-alone building on Arlington Avenue. When the brothers first purchased their new building, they didn't think they would ever be able to fill the entire 38,000 square feet! Nearly eleven years later, they're trying to find ways to add on to the space to make room for all their new machines! At this time when many businesses are struggling, bo-mar is very fortunate to continue growing.
This week for Flashback Friday, we're going to compare pictures of the business in 2000/2001 with pictures from 2011!

Flashback Friday
This week for Flashback Friday we're going to feature some classic pictures of our employees working on various projects around the shop. These may not be the oldest pictures around, but we needed some more variety. Besides, our fabrication business would be nothing without our talented team of craftsmen! Enjoy.

A Work in Progress
Purdue University recently came to bo-mar with the idea of a piece of decorative artwork for outside the new Mackey Arena. bo-mar is currently in the process of fabricating a blown up boiler, for the Boilermakers. Indiana Art Glass is working with bo-mar to make the sculpture out of glass, stainless steel, and COR-TEN steel. The new basketball arena is set to open on November 11, 2011. We'll be sure to post more pictures as the project progresses!

Flashback Friday
In previous Flashback Fridays, we've shown you Bo and Mark's love for cars. As much as the brothers love their four-wheeled vehicles, they enjoy two wheels just as well! While they may ride bicycles now, the boys spent a lot of time on their dirt bikes as kids and young adults. When they weren't too busy working on their cars or going to the drive-in down the street, they were often out with a group of friends getting dirty and breaking bones! Their love for all the power and speed certainly helped in their decision to eventually open their own fabrication business.

East Side Church of God--Car Show
A thriving aspect of bo-mar’s success, throughout the years, is the business’s dedication to its core values. bo-mar’s enthusiasm for quality service, customer care, employee appreciation, and community involvement has impacted many people over the past 20 years and continues still today. Here at bo-mar, we strive to give back to the community as often as possible. Over the summer, bo-mar was very grateful to participate in a car show for an Anderson, Indiana community. A member of East Side Church of God (ESCOG) approached bo-mar to fabricate an award that could be given to the top cars of the show.
The church member had seen the designs and craftsmanship of trophies created for other car shows, and contacted us for the First Annual Block Party Car Show. We were able to prototype a new fabrication process with the design of these trophies. We sent a sheet of stainless steel to a printing company, where an image was printed on the metal. When the sheet of metal came back to us from printing, we then cut and formed it into a trophy. All in all, bo-mar provided 10 trophies for the East Side Church of God Car Show.

ESCOG annually hosts a “back-to-school” Block Party for the community. The church provides food, games, prizes, and bounce houses for children in the community while parents have the opportunity to pick out different “back-to-school” supplies and clothes for their kids. Each year, nearly 500 children receive a book bag and school supplies!
